Welcome to St John's

The Scottish Episcopal Church in the Royal Burgh of Selkirk in the Scottish Borders

We belong to the Diocese of Edinburgh in the world-wide Anglican Church.

We are an inclusive, collaborative-ministry church, and everyone is welcome at our worship

Service times ...

Sunday 08.30: Traditional Holy Communion
Sung Eucharist in Modern English
(On the first Sunday of the month this is a specially family-friendly service. On the third Sunday it includes prayers and laying-on of hands for healing. When there is a fifth Sunday we have a Service of the Word in Modern English.)
Wednesday 10.00: Informal Holy Communion

Children ...

Are very welcome, especially at the 10.30 Sunday service. There is no Sunday School, but there is a family space at the back of the church with books and toys and art-work resources. We encourage even the youngest children to share in the bread and wine at communion (grape juice is available as alternative to fermented wine).

Access ...

The church building is small and intimate with seating for up to 100. There is wheelchair access at the main door. We have an induction loop, a simple sound-reinforcement system, and large-print copies of services. There is a toilet.

After worship ...

We invite you to stay for refreshments and a blether at the back of church after the 10.30 Sunday service. Stay as long as you like: this often goes on as long as the service itself!

Find us ...

At the junction of Bleachfield Road and Shawpark Road, TD7 4EE, about half a mile north of the Market Place along the High Street and Scott's Place.
